It has internal battery where it charges during the day time for use at night when there is darkness. It has In-built Photocell light sensor which sense darkness in the evening and switches the light ON automatically. The light stays on throughout the night and switches itself OFF in the morning at sunrise. Once charged the light should work well into the night. It comes with a remote control that lets you put it on or off at your discretion and also switch to AUTO MODE which means that the light will turn on and off by itself based on the sunlight available (intelligent light control).
